THE THROUGH LINE
I started out on the production side, but the longer I spent making projects, the more interested I became in what was happening around the deal.I kept finding myself drawn to the questions behind the practical decisions: what rights do we actually have? What does this clause mean for the production? Where does the risk sit? And how do you find an answer that protects the project without stopping it in its tracks?Rather than keep exploring that instinct informally, I decided to build the legal foundation to match it. I completed a master's in Entertainment Law at the University of Westminster and the Graduate Diploma in Law with The College of Legal Practice, both with Distinction, before moving into legal and business affairs at CPL Productions.That move has given me the opportunity to work from both sides of the table, understanding the pressure to get a production moving while also appreciating the importance of getting the underlying deal right.Alongside my professional work, I am also developing my own film and television projects, taking ideas from early development through to the page and exploring what it takes to build them into productions.
